Frequently Asked Questions

My venue already has a coordinator, so why do I need a planner?

Venue coordinators are employed by the venue itself, and are there to serve the venue.  Often times venue coordinators are working with many clients and may not have time and attention necessary to attend tot he details of your wedding.  Wedding planners/coordinators are involved to serve the couple - solely dedicated to their wedding vision and  to ensure their vision comes to life on wedding day.

May I still book services even if I don't live in Charlottesville or Virginia?

Absolutely! In fact, about 50% of my clients live outside of Charlottesville, whether they're planning a destination wedding in another location or planning one in a different part of Virginia.  Unlimited accessibility via email, phone, FaceTime, or Skype is always an option.

If I book day-of coordination services, and realize I need more support, can I add services throughout my planning process?

Of course!  Day-of coordination services really require the couple doing 80% of the homework, and I swoop in to tie up lose ends, finalize timelines, and execute logistics beginning roughly a week before your big day.  If you book day-of coordination and throughout your planning process realize you need more guidance I'd be happy to supplement with partial planning.

How many weddings do you handle at any given time?

Day by Fay takes on 2 partial planning weddings per calendar year, and 6-8 day-of coordination weddings.  Fortunately, I work with a fantastic team that often helps!
