Loey & Sean

The Best of Luck

Sean and Loey's wedding weekend is one for the books as they couldn't have asked for better weather or a better crowd with whom to celebrate!  I'll never forget the moment, while Loey and her ladies were making their way from their hotel on the downtown mall to their wedding venue, when a bird pooped on Loey's gown!  While any other bride would have panicked, Loey laughed it off and agreed it was good luck, a sign of good fortune that that day would be the best day.  Loey and Sean's intimate ceremony took place at Common House, a gathering space that cultivates community through inspirational design and fine dining with an eclectic, speakeasy sort of vibe.  We kept the decor simple with floating candles and bud vases filled with cream colored wildflowers given the large-scale brightly colored murals serving as a backdrop to the vow exchange.  Unbeknownst to Loey, Sean was able to receive a letter from UVA Men's Basketball head coach Tony Bennet in advance of their big day, and Sean's father (and best man!) read it to the couple during the ceremony.  Guests enjoyed champagne and cocktails the hour after the ceremony at Common House prior to making their way over to the Local in the heart of the Belmont neighborhood to continue the celebration.

As Sean and Loey's friends and family arrived to the Local, they signed love notes and wedding wishes in their Italian cookbook and enjoyed mingling until the newlyweds made their grand entrance.  The pair shared a memorable first dance to Leon Bridges' "Above and Beyond" and were honored with a series of toasts throughout their four course dinner.  The entire crowd was dancing all night long with tunes provided by the DJ, and countless heart-felt hugs and belly laughs were exchanged by all.  Loey and Sean are truly a dream couple and I know they'll be dancing throughout their marriage for years to come!
